CURRENT EVENTS

We sponsor and promote events that educate and foster spirit and community within the Brookside Area and throughout Wellesley.

TROLL AND FAIRY HOUSES ALONG MORSES POND!

Saturday May 18th, 1-3 PM, Meet at Cochituate Aqueduct (Russell/Kendall Road)

Wellesley Conservation Council wil host a walk along Morses' Pond to Pickle Point Sanctuary for Elementary School Children. Each child will adopt a tree and build a fairy or troll house! These fairy house structures are made from sticks, pebbles, dry grasses, nuts and other natural materials gathered during the short walk. (No living material will be disturbed.)

The wish of the Council is for children to be exposed to nature and its wonders while having fun! As the saying goes, "Fairies and Trolls are helping to protect our environment!"

Water Talk with Joe Duggan, Wellesley's Water and Sewer Superintendent

What is Schmutzdecke?

We were pleased to host Joe Duggan for the first in a series of talks focused on the Brookside Area.

Mr. Duggan spoke on the town's infrastructure and local geology, and entertained many questions from the interested audience. Over forty people attended the talk, which was extremely well received. We only wish we had more time to learn from Joe's long and experienced tenure in Wellesley.

The Rosemary Brook Watershed plays a vital role in our town's water supply. A special thank you to Mr. Duggan for enlightening us, and to all who attended, for making the evening a success!  Photos Here
